His work and inspirations
William’s work looks to question, how meaning is created within abstract painting. He comments, “by readdressing abstractions significance within Modernism, I hope to both re-establish a connection to modernist approaches but also question their motives, embracing quotation and references to popular culture as a means of questioning the autonomy of abstract painting.”
